The tavern grade floor also has random widths varying from 8 to 16 inches and is 1/2 inch thick with a 3/8 shiplap. These boards have been lightly planed leaving patches of saw kerf on the surface. With the varying widths, the hand hewn edges and ends, and the saw kerf areas interspersed over the smoothed planed surface, this floor takes on quite an unusual rustic elegant look. It comes prefinished in either a tung oil or poly finish.
